David first proposed to me five years ago on the actual street corner where we met(…)he got on one knee and proposed, and I was so freaked out by it that I said, “Yes,” but I didn’t know what it meant. Then I got the ring and loved it, and a year later, on Valentine’s Day, I proposed to him in Santa Monica(…)I’d also like to call him my husband(…)I’ve been saying “better half” for as long as I’ve been able to. I think it’s a little self-deprecating and clearly defines that we’re in a relationship, but it would be nice to say “my husband”.

I wish there was no pain, or suffering. I wish the hunger for greed, and power did not manifest in mankind’s minds, and/or hearts. I wish all communities sustained principles conducive to the basic needs of their people. And finally, I wish we- young, middle, and elderly- would retain our sense of wonder, excitement, and vibrancy for life.
Deep down, I gently, and fiercely hold onto these wishes because amongst the realities of what human nature is subjected to, these wants have become the skeletal structure of my hopes.
Within us all, there is the capacity for change- internally, externally, and globally.
Or at least, there are those working/fighting, whether in big or small steps, towards a reality that is more livable for all beings.
lol.

“For what it’s worth: it’s never too late or, in my case, too early to be whoever you want to be. There’s no time limit, stop whenever you want. You can change or stay the same, there are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. And I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life you’re proud of. If you find that you’re not, I hope you have the strength to start all over again.”
F. Scott Fitzgerald
